Spark a love of reading with the Marvel Reads FREE App!

Comic books have always been influenced by society and the culture of the times. Educationally, they are great ways to inspire some reluctant readers to read more. I found this FREE Iron Man: Armored Avenger comic book app to have really nice features for the young and the young at heart alike.

My favorite feature of the app is that it is read by Stan Lee. Yes, STAN "THE MAN" LEE will read to you! How cool is that? Download the app to spark a child's interest in reading or download it just because the kid in you wants to read it too! If you plan to see the next movie, read it before the film or again and again after the movie with a child (Repeated reading is a great reading strategy to use with children learning to read.).

App features:
- young reader mode
- read to me
- auto turn pages
- music
- interactive motions
- games, badges, and challenges

Reminder:
Turn off in app purchases before you allow a young child to handle your device.

Explore the cultural relevance of comic books:
Comic books, like all pop culture, reflect who we are instead of who we say we are. They're a mirror, and even if we want to look away, we shouldn't. -- Andrew Smith
