Phone Spam

I really despise getting a phone call on my cell phone that is from a telemarketer. One day recently I received 5+ phone calls from one number that I did not recognize from an area code that started with a 9. I ignored them and then used a reverse look-up service, http://www.whitepages.com/reverse_phone, to find out who the number belonged to. It was a home security sales force from somwhere in the northeast. If this has happened to you- either on a land line for anyone who still has one or on a cell phone- go to the National Do Not Call List and register your number. After your number has been listed for 31 days telemarketers should no longer call your number. If they do, file a complaint on the same website.  To stop all those credit card junk mailers, go to the Federal Trade Commission's website.
